Peace

I hope that readers have enjoyed the interview series at The Fine Delight. Now, on the heels of Lent--and healed by that season--it is time to move on from that component of this project.

The larger project--writing about contemporary Catholic literature--continues.

The Fine Delight is available in print and as an e-book.

My own literature is, well, Catholic. This Darksome Burn, a novella, was published recently by Queen's Ferry Press. Look for Good People, my debut story collection, later this year from Foxhead Books. The collection includes stories that originally appeared in Esquire, The Kenyon Review, and other fine places.

You can also catch me writing at The Millions, including the occasional Catholic piece.

Here is a snippet from my latest--"Sacrament of Fiction: On Becoming a Writer and Not a Priest":

Good fiction can be a form of good works. As a Catholic, I recognize that life is a story of continuous revision, of failure and unexpected grace, and of dogged hope. I am comfortable with the white space of ambiguity and mystery. I have faith, not certainty.
Thanks for visiting, and be well--
